Everything I Do, For You Alone in the Moonlight
By Claudia List
In the moonlight
I have drowned for you
in the ocean which I cried
and then I did remain for you
after the waters had dried.
In the moonlight
I have danced for you
knocked loudly on death's door
Hysterically I have laughed for you
For I could dance no more.
In the moonlight
I have performed for you
A brilliant play I t must be said
A scene straight from my life for you.
It ends - I'm cold and dead.
In the moonlight
I have thanks for you.
The person as who I've been reborn
the one who owes so much for you
For, I've lost my sense to mourn.
In the moonlight
I have searched for you
To give you a great reward
A glistening dagger I made for you
To dispose of this fine Lord.
In the moonlight
I have killed for you.
No the rich to give you wealth
But when my beating heart you stole for you
I became the slayer of myself.
In the moonlight
I have love for you
Hard to see, for emptiness the winds have blown.
but, Because of all I feel for you
I have drowned alone.
